I was wondering what is the difference between stereotype and stereotypy? As the latter one is more related to science which means abnormal repeat ion of same action without purpose e.g. In Lab after injection mouse with Amphetamine the mouse keep moving in a circular manner and in human is connected to psychiatric problem e.g. Schizophrenia.Moving on to Stereotype which means according to this Dictionary

1. A generalization usually exaggerated or oversimplified and often offensive, that is used to describe or distinguish a group.
2. A too-simple and therefore distorted image of a group, such as “Football players are stupid” or “The English are cold and unfriendly people.”
So,
Why media and Television use the stereotypes?
What are the main reasons for stereotyping?
What are the consequences and the impact on the people especially young and teen?
Who are the main targets for the media in other words who hold center stage?
In order to have answers to these questions I did search on the Internet:
But before starting I want to give an example about one of the most famous stereotypes
about Arabic world as there are many.
It comes from 'The Thousand Nights and a Night' which makes people think about the flying
carpets, bondswomen, dancing. Music and the Magic lantern afreet and we should not forget the camels and sands.
Moving back to our questions?
I will try to give a brief summary about what I have understood so far:
First of all, the media try to attract more and more people by improving understanding .So they use stereotypes as a tool to simplify facts about a group of people or a community in a way that sometimes does not reflect the reality. As a matter of fact, these facts are usually related to race, gender, sexual identity and social roles. (1)
Regarding the reasons, It has been thought by considerable number of people that this is linked directly to the lack of diversity in the production Units of news or films which means these opinions come from someone' point of view (1) but In my opinion the factor that plays the major role in this performance is the captivate Media In other words, The media is a tool in itself that is used by organizations, governments, Financial capitals in order to direct people toward a certain target that serves their interests.
Negative influence of stereotypes
1. They Mold people by making them think in the same way which reduces diversity within the community.
2. they convert uncertain hypotheses to facts.
3. they are used as tools by powerful people in order to clarify their behaviors.
4. they establish discrimination and unethical behaviors against the people who are from different backgrounds and race.(1)
There are many examples for stereotypes as
1. Ethnic and the minorities
Especially in the sitcoms which has bad impact in the multicultural communities.
2. Aborigines who are the original or the native people of the country e.g. Indian Americans.
Especially in cartoons.
3. Women
Thin, attractive and looking for men.
4. Men
Superman who cannot be defeated and playboy(1)

And many others framed pictures that should be kept in our storage rooms or recycled .They do not deserve to be portrayed in our homes.
Knowledge is power that lights our life and Ignorant is our obscure enemy.
How we can distinguish between the truth and the mirage when our eyes are covered by a silky ribbon. If the white is the color of daylight and the black is the color of night, the dawn is the color of transparency that should be in our media.
Finally, if we want to live as free minds we should learn Media Literacy
that helps us to understand the facts behind the scenes rather than being adsorbent sponge for anything.
